Reaching Out, Coming Together

Ashley's online friends have come together to support the family she left behind when she was taken from them tragically in a car accident on Jan 8th.

I wrote about her in detail yesterday in my post titled "Remembering Ashley" but I wanted to update everyone who stopped by to comment. Some of you knew her and some of you didn't but that doesn't matter. We are all connected; So whether you knew her or didn't if you can help I know you'll want to.

Ashley and her husband Peter and their young son Toby has just welcomed baby Lucy into their family. They all had so much to look forward to together.

Ashley will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 12th. The service is at 11am at: St Margaret's Episcopal Church 12663 Perkins Rd. in Baton Rouge LA. 70810.

We'd like to help Peter with some of the costs to cover childcare and help in some small way so that money is one less thing he needs to worry about. Please help if you can in any way you can and please, spread the word. - Thank you for caring.

Well, it's 13 months later. I had a nice visit with Ashley's family. The kids are doing wonderful and so is Peter. Ashley's Mom and Dad and sister miss her deeply, but they are all supporting Peter and the kids. Peter's Mom was visiting from England, so it was a great opportunity for me to meet her again.

The money we raised made a TREMENDOUS difference. It allowed Peter to pay off all of his bills and have money for a very nice Honda CRV. He calls it "safe" for his kids, emphasizing the importance of caring for his and Ashley's children.
