It's Not Broken

Big thanks to everyone who left a comment here or sent me messages on twitter regarding my ankle. It is greatly appreciated.

I wanted to take a minute to update you and let you know that I finally went to the emergency room (two days later) to have it , and my wrist, checked. Yes, I know, I didn't tell you about the wrist.

They took a ton of x-rays of my wrist and my ankle and the good news is that nothing is broken or fractured. I just had an extremely bad sprain.

Oh, and for those of you who were virtually smacking me upside the head, No worries, I got the lecture from the doctor about waiting so long to come in.

Two thumbs up to Palmetto Hospital for taking me in immediately and getting me to x-ray like 5 minutes after I arrived at about 10:30 in the morning.

Big thumbs down for losing me in the system and assigning me to bed 9 but never telling me.

I sat outside the x-ray room forever and a day listening to doctors and nurses gossip about each other. It was like the hispanic version of Grey's Anatomy.

Eventually, some hunky McHottie asked me my name and explained the confusion and escorted me to bed 9 where I was finally found and taken care of in somewhat of a timely manner.

They gave me a prescription for ibuprofen, wrapped me in ace bandages and told me to stay off the ankle and keep it elevated. Apparently they didn't know I had two tornadoes at home.

I'll be home all weekend trying to take the doctor's advice. What are you doing this weekend?

Glad to heat that you're only bent and not broken, though a sprain can sometimes feel worse than a fracture!

The Hispanic version of Grey's Anatomy, eh? Any sexy Dr. McSteamys around? Mark sometimes had it all over Derek!

Now take it easy for the rest of the weekend; I'm listening to the rain fall - yet again - and working on tomorrow's post - yeeha!

I'm so glad it's not broken. My husbnad sprained his ankle on both sides once and the doctor flat out told him that he would have been way better off just breaking it. I hope your ankle (and wrist!) heal faster than his ankle did, b/c seriously that was a pain.

Now I understand why you had such a bad weekend.

I'm glad your ankle is not broken. That's good, right?
