Voting Is Painful
Yesterday I mentioned that immediately after voting I ate gravel. If you missed the story, it's at the bottom of my election day post.
I've never had a broken bone and I didn't think it warranted a trip to the emergency room but it's a painful twisted ankle and I've twisted my ankle enough to know that this doesn't feel like anything I've ever felt before.
I'm not sure if it's just a bad sprain or a hairline fracture or if I broke it but it hurts and it's ugly and swollen. Anyway, this is what my ankle looked like late last night. I don't know what's more painful. the ankle or showing it to you here. Oy!
What do you think? X-ray or no X-ray? Do I really need to go to the doctor?

I might ice it and see if the swelling goes away - it would be nice to avoid a doctor/ER visit if not necessary.
As a contrast to your ankle, your toes look delightful in pink.

Thanks! The rather large lumps on the top and sides were worrying me. I didn't think anything was broken but some folks are saying maybe hairline fracture. I really don't want to go to the ER/Doctor and spend more $$ if it's no necessary.

I'm thinking hairline fracture as well. Do the ice. Take some anti-inflammatory drugs and keep it elevated.

Are you kidding? GO TO THE DOCTOR! You would take your child or your hubby to the doctor if it were them, now wouldn't you? You are needed...take care of yourself and GO! Don't make me come down there! :)

Well, I'm assuming that you had enough sense to go to the doctor this morning. What were the results?

I say visit the doctor. The worse thing that will happen is the doc will tell you to ice it, elevate it, etc. Ouch is all I can say. That looks nasty.

Ouchie. If you go to the Dr. maybe you'll get an air cast to support and protect it.
